  elders arranged a sort of informal visit by a more capable elder accompanied by another brother who is more qualified than me from academic background.

  their purpose was to reason with me as a last resort to avoid a jc.. during the two-hour discussion, i could make my point clear to them: “i don’t think any one particular religion has the whole truth.

  it may be existing as bits and piece in all religions and schools of thought.

  If you continue "agreeing" to meet with these wolves, they are going to rip you to shreds. You are not going to help them see any truths.

  You will not lose anything by terminating these discussions immediately. Whatever they have already decided to do to you, they are going to do it whether you continue down this road or not.

  Don't dignify or humanise these animals by playing their power/control games. Simply tell them that you don't wish to continue with further conversations - at the moment. Reasons? Private & personal. Say nothing more than this.

  quite randomly as i was working away at my desk i remembered an illustration from the bible teach book in which satan claimed he knew better than jehovah about ruling mankind.

  Sadly - with all due respect to r&f JW's - the Borg forbids JW's from reasoning or having discussions with anyone which conflict with the "slave's" teachings. Reasoning on the Bible with non-JW's is a no-no. JW's are even instructed never to accept/examine another denomination's literature - but the Writing Committee at H.Q. does.

  They already have the "truth", so why listen to something different?

  ok , my wife and i have faded for a year and a half , i won't bore u with all the details but my wife just got confirmation that her sister got a visit some time ago saying we are marked and my sister also got the same visit in which we were described as dangerous, now for my wife , she has not spoken 1 bad word to anyone about the org apart from me (she woke me up ) the elders came around while i wasn't home and bailed her up but she said she wasn't comfortable talking to them without me there ,so the result ?......

  let's do a round of all their friends and say shit about them because we can't df them but let's get them treated the same as if they were .... yeah yeah that's a good idea .... stupid mofos!

  out to just wreck the reputation of any defectors from the org .

  I have relatives who were subjected to a marking talk in the past 18 months. Their crime? The husband assumed headship of his family and refused to discuss a personal family situation with elders. Unforgiveable!

  Defamation of character can't be proven - because no names are ever mentioned when a "marking" takes place. The congregation is left to figure out who the pariahs being described are.

  Elders are all now generally slimy scum-bags, because deep down they know what they're doing is brutal & vicious. "We were only obeying orders" will be their cry.

  if you had 2 minutes with an old witness friend or with a family member to convince them the 'truth' is a lie and the gb isnt being directed by god what would you say to get their attention that might make them question their beliefs?.

  Hard as it is not to tell a JW that they are believing a certain GB lie as opposed to a Bible truth, (e.g. you must confess your seriously juicy sins to 3 elders) posing the statement as a question may plant a seed in the JW mind, rather than inciting them to adopt "apostate defence mode" and clamming up.

  so i have been "faded" for approximately 2.5 years.

  my parents know i haven't attended a meeting in quite some time, but don't know that i have been dating a guy for about eight months.

  we really love each other and his family is super sweet.

  Sad to say, but it's certain that you're not going to come out of this unscathed.

  Sooner or later, your parents will find out about your "worldly" boyfriend. You can then expect an ultimatum from them - it's either "God's organization," or the boyfriend. And of course, the threat that you will be cutting yourself off from them by your choice. Get ready.

  so this morning i had a conversation with my grandmother about going out in service.

  remind you i'm only 17. i tried to ask her why i had to go out in service if this isn't what i believe in and whatnot.

  jdash - As others have advised you, bite your tongue. You are not in a good position at the moment to teach any JW about TTATT, but don't worry, you will have tons of time and opportunity to do so in the coming years.

  Ride out the next few months until you are no longer a minor, then fade rapidly - stating "private & personal" reasons. Best wishes.

  In any business it would be negligent stupidity not to monitor public opinion/press reports/media forums to see what your enemies/competitors were saying about you.

  The WTBTS is first & foremost a business, and as such, you can bet your house on it that they will have assigned "spiritually mature brothers" to police sites such as this - all in the name of identifying copyright infringements no doubt.
